The Bernd Best Tournament has been offering teams from all over the world the opportunity to compete since 1999. With four performance categories, it is the most important meeting place and is unique in the rugby scene. No other regular event brings together so many rugby fans, offering the opportunity to compete and talk shop.

Wheelchair rugby originated 30 years ago in Canada under the name "Murderball". It is mainly played by people with damage to the cervical spine (quadriplegia) or similar disabilities. All players have restrictions on their legs, arms or hands. In a spectacular mixture of bumper cars and chess, the players try to score as many goals as possible with a volleyball at the eight-meter-wide end line. They regularly crash into each other with their specially adapted sports chairs and combine clever strategies with fast-paced sport, making this sport one of the most attractive in wheelchair sports.
